Post Show Report RENWEX 2023. International Exhibition for Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicles

RENWEX once again proved its relevance in the establishment of the renewable energy industry in this country, introducing users to the latest technological trends, samples of products from leading domestic and foreign manufacturers.
The professional dialogue between representatives of the authorities, business and the expert community helped to exchange views with colleagues and find answers to many topical issues, conduct business negotiations and conclude lucrative contracts.
This year’s RENWEX brought together the best developers of renewable energy and electric transport technologies. Compared to 2019, the first year, RENWEX has more than doubled in size.

 Show highlights

The Electric Vehicles and Charging Infrastructure salon has expanded this year. Promenergo, PSS Corporation, DKC, SOPT-KOMPLEKT, and Orbis traditionally took part in the salon. New exhibitors included Belorusneft, Cryogas, Strim Elektro, Space Cars + Robots (Tesla Centre Moscow), and others.

Training of highly qualified personnel in the field of green energy and alternative transport is increasingly in demand in today’s environment. The curricula and science and technology developments were presented by the country’s leading universities such as Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Institute of Solid State Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and MISIS University of Science and Technology.

Conference programme

The participants in the opening ceremony of the exhibition and forum were Vladimir Kononov, Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, Ekaterina Chaban Acting Director of the Department of State Research and Science and Technology Policy at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Sergey Selivanov, First Deputy Director General at EXPOCENTRE AO, and other honorable guests.

“Over the years, RENWEX has established itself as an effective platform for showcasing cutting-edge developments in renewable energy and electric transport, as well as a venue for discussion and exchange of experience among leading experts from the energy industry.”

The speakers noted the importance of the RENWEX exhibition and forum. According to them, the development of renewable energy sources and electric vehicles is an unconditional priority to ensure energy security and technological sovereignty of the country in the current social and economic situation. In today’s conditions, scientific research and training of modern qualified personnel in this field are becoming increasingly in demand.

Day 1
 Renewable Energy Sources, Green Innovation and Energy Saving

Representatives of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy, the Russia Renewable Energy Development Association and leading industry companies took part in the discussion.
The event discussed the state of production of domestic renewable energy equipment, measures to stimulate the development of the renewable energy sector, the competitiveness of the domestic renewable energy industry, various aspects of green energy development in Russia and much more.

  • Panel on How Can Secondary Raw Materials from Coal Energy Be Used in Renewable Energy Development?

The event was held by the Russia Renewable Energy Development Association and the National Association for the Development of Recycling Raw Materials

The session was moderated by Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education Vladimir Kononov. Andrey Maksimov, Director at the Department of Power Engineering Development of the Russian Ministry of Energy, and Anton Gusev, Deputy Director at the Department of State Research and Science and Technology Policy of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education made presentations devoted to the ministries’ activities in the field of energy.
The audience’s attention was attracted by the reports of the heads of universities and industry research institutions, who spoke about their work in renewable energy and discussed the following topics “How to ensure symbiosis of science, education, industry”, “Main directions and priority projects”, “State support measures for industry enterprises, including development of legislative and regulatory framework”, “Training personnel for renewable energy”, “Targeted enrolment of students”.

Day 2
 Electric Vehicles and Development of Charging Infrastructure

  • Session on Electric Transport in Russia and in the World

The participants discussed changes in the structure of the types of energy used in transport. Start-ups are actively developing new technologies both in the field of electric transport itself and various components, especially energy storage systems.
Head of the Department of Economic Sector Development of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia Rustam Abulmambetov spoke about the implementation of a number of documents on the development of electric transport adopted at the state level. Experts shared the results of Russia’s first experience of launching a full-fledged urban electric taxi. Representatives of electric transport manufacturers and developers also took part in the discussion.

  • Panel on Development of Charging Infrastructure: Building Technology Competencies and Implementation of Pilot Projects

The panel was organised by the Association for Development of the Electromobile, Unmanned and Connected Transport and Infrastructure. The event was attended by representatives of regional ministries, management of companies specialising in electric transport, and industry experts.

The participants exchanged information on promising Russian developments in this important area, which accumulates the main innovation potential of the electric vehicle industry.

Microgeneration: Economic and Technological Efficiency

  • Session on Practical Application of Renewable Energy Technologies supported by the EUROSOLAR Russia Non-Profit Partnership for Development of Renewable Energy

Participants in the session presented a number of projects that organically use microgeneration mechanisms to reduce the costs of electricity use for businesses.

Achievements in the field of green energy were shared by company directors and other industry representatives, who drew attention to the difficulties that currently exist in negotiating microgeneration contracts by private solar panel owners and small businesses with regional energy sales companies.
