RENWEX 2022: hybrid energy is expanding

22 / 06 / 2022

The Session on the Prospects for the Development of Small-scale Hybrid Energy took place within RENWEX 2022 at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds.

The session was moderated by Anton Usachev, Director of the Photovoltaic Industry Association. He highlighted the importance of a wider application of hybrid energy using solar and wind generation.

Maksim Gubanov, Head of Energy, Housing and Utilities at the Corporation for Development of the Far East and Arctic, spoke about the potential for introducing hybrid generation in the Far East and Arctic, which is now being maximised so that companies can implement their projects in these regions and invest in upgrading the energy infrastructure of the Far East and Arctic.

According to Mr. Gubanov, the important thing is for engineering companies to sell their process equipment to those companies that operate. But, unfortunately, the financial and economic situation of the companies that operate the equipment does not allow them to purchase it. The speaker explained that the corporation is ready to support proposals for specific pilot projects in terms of the necessary communication with the regions, investors, banks and state development institutions.

Vladislav Karasevich, Senior Lecturer at the Basic Department of RES of Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, spoke about what could be done in terms of hydrogen energy and what technologies were used.

Aleksey Zhuykov, CEO at Solar Energy, described what small hybrid energy projects were being implemented in the central regions of Russia. He stated that in two years more than 25 million have been invested in energy service contracts across the country and more than 210 projects have been implemented in 25 regions of Russia.

Other participants of the discussion were Aleksandr Maslov, Head of Project Sales at Unigreen Energy Group, and Andrey Temerov, Director of AltEnergy NP, Chair at the Green Kilowatt Association of Renewable Energy Specialists. They presented projects that had been implemented and talked about how alternative energy was developing in Russia and the future of renewable energy sources in this country.
