Participants in specialised sections of the International Forum "Renewable Energy for Regional Development", which runs within the RENWEX 2019 exhibition at Expocentre Fairgrounds, have discussed a lot of relevant topics.

One of the panel discussions was devoted to the best technologies and projects used in Russian regions and aimed to solve specific regional problems. According to the session participants, the use of renewable energy technology in isolated regions is very promising and has no alternative. Director General of Mobile Energy Yuri Mirchevskiy talked about introduction of windmill generators in the Russian Far East.

Opportunities for cooperation between Russia and Germany in the field of construction of new renewable power generation facilities in Russian regions generated a lot of interest. Welcoming the participants, Department Head in the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Ulrich Benterbusch said that there were a lot of opportunities for development of renewable energy sources in Russian regions. According to Mr. Benterbusch, the use of renewable energy technology can satisfy both domestic and international demand. He also talked about cooperation prospects in this field. Some of its results can be seen at RENWEX 2019.

German partners presented a project called Enabling PV in Russia, which is already carried out in Kaliningrad and the Krasnodar krai. There are plans to introduce it in the Ulyanovsk oblast and Bashkortostan. Representatives of Russian regions shared their expectations about this project.

Another panel discussion held as part of the forum was "Regulatory Control: Localization of Production of Renewable Energy Components: Experience and Prospects for Further Development".
